Yosemite’s Fireball Is Back

Yosemite National Park’s “Fireball” is back, but only for a few days.

The natural phenomenon comes to life when the setting sun causes light to hit Horsetail Falls at just the right angle, giving the image of lava flowing off the cliff. The yearly spectacle occurs for a short time each February and appears differently each year based on factors, like water flow.

If you’re trying to catch an Instagrammable moment, do so by the end of this weekend…or wait ‘til next year.
