Australian Python Hitches 9,000 Mile Flight In Woman’s Shoe

“I’ve had it with these ***** snakes on this ***** plane!” We know, Samuel L. Jackson.

Moira Boxall was shocked to discover a live spotted Australian python curled up in her shoe, packed away in her suitcase. During the 9,000 mile flight, the serpent even started shedding its skin. Boxall called the Scottish SPCA, an animal protection organization, where the snake was put safely in quarantine.

Interestingly…

Snakes have bypassed airport security before:

  • In 2012, a snake bit a Jordanian man on an EgyptAir flight, forcing an emergency landing.
  • In 2016, a passenger filmed a snake dangling into the cabin during an Aeromexico flight.
