New TSA Scanners Tone Down Airport Hassle

The Transportation Security Administration is rolling out a new baggage scanner at several airports. It drastically reduces the screening process by cutting out the need to empty electronics and liquids from carry-ons. Woohoo!

TSA’s new tech uses computed tomography (CT) to image a bag’s contents in 3D. They announced they spent $97 million to buy 300 new CT machines that will be installed and operational this summer.
