At least they’re working on it. Amazon Go, a cashless store, has expanded to 10 locations and hit a snag with local legislation initiatives pushing them to accept cash as it was considered “discrimination and elitism”. The move is meant to protect lower-income customers who may not be able to divulge in cashless purchases.
How will they allow cash with a cashierless setup? They may need to hire actual humans. Amazon declined to comment on when the change will occur.
